Grotto Pizza restaurants at Harveys Lake and Wilkes-Barre are now open for take out and delivery ONLY. We have completed a two-staged cleaning and sanitizing program that included the application of BioShield to all restaurant surfaces. We are confident that we are once again ready to serve you. However, out of an abundance of caution we are not offering dine-in (or patio) seating as of yet. Our restaurant at the Gateway Center in Edwardsville remains open for dine-in as well as take out/delivery.
Stay tuned for more updates as necessary, and a sincere thank you to our extended family of team members, suppliers and especially you–our guests–for supporting us during this difficult time.

COVID-19 Exposure at Grotto Pizza Harveys Lake & Wilkes-Barre
We have received a great number of calls and messages from guests wondering if, based on the day and time of their visit, they have been exposed to one of our team members who tested positive for COVID-19. We must be very careful to protect the privacy and rights of our team members. That said, if you visited our Harveys Lake restaurant between June 20 and June 27, 2020 we recommend extra caution over the next few days. The measures we put in place–from sanitizing to physical barriers to masks–greatly reduce the chance that guests were exposed, and the team members in question worked limited hours this past week. Still, out of an abundance of caution, self-monitor for symptoms and, should any symptoms appear, take advantage of the various free testing outlets available in our community. Most important, we want to express our gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community–it means a great deal to see such tremendous support for our people and our restaurants. We will be back, better than ever. Stay tuned for more updates as warranted.

COVID-19 EXPOSURE AT GROTTO PIZZA HARVEYS LAKE & WILKES-BARRE
On the night of Saturday, June 26th, we at Grotto Pizza Harveys Lake became aware that one of our wait staff tested positive for COVID-19. On Sunday, June 28 th, we became aware that a close associate of this person also tested positive. This second person also is a member of our service staff at Harveys Lake. And then finally, another close associate of both these persons tested positive for COVID-19. This third person works in the dining room at our Wilkes-Barre location.
We took these immediate steps: one, informing all employees who may have had contact with these individuals; two, shutting down our dining rooms in order to undertake an exhaustive sanitizing/cleaning of the facilities.
Grotto Pizza is committed to providing a safe dining experience to our guests, as we have for nearly seventy years. COVID-19 is a reality with which we are all living these days, and we will continue to do our part to protect our team members and the dining public. Most businesses of all types will likely experience exposure to this illness in some fashion during the months ahead. The key is to react swiftly and thoroughly to limit exposure, which we have done in this case.
We will not reopen our dine-in facilities at Harveys Lake or Wilkes-Barre until we are confident that there is no risk to the public. More information will be provided should we experience any new developments and our internal investigation continues to make sure we have covered every potentiality.
These are difficult times for restaurants, but we are extremely thankful for our loyal guests who have helped us through the tough times of 2020. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
